Building "my own home" is every homeowners dream, but, unless you are planning on being your own contractor, working with a builder to create your dream home is a necessary part of this process. Depending on who you ask, getting from raw ground to the finished product can either be exciting and rewarding or frustrating and unpleasant. What will ultimately make the difference between a successful home building experience, and an unpleasant and frustrating one, is how well prepared and educated you are prior to beginning the process.
Having helped countless homeowners sucessfully build the new home of their dreams, I have outlined the key steps to follow to help you successfully navigate through the world of new construction. This is the information your may or may not get if you work with a builder, but it is invaluable in helping you move smoothly through the process and avoid the "wish I'd asked" remorse so often expressed by many home buyers as they go through the new home building process. I hope it helps.
